Jakarta – President-elect Prabowo Subianto held a briefing session for prospective deputy ministers at his residence in Hambalang, West Java, yesterday. A number of international speakers participated in the Hambalang Retreat.
According to the event agenda received by detikcom on Friday (October 18, 2024), there were at least four speakers at the Hambalang Retreat for prospective deputy ministers. All of the speakers are internationally active in their respective fields.
The four speakers were Riaz Shah, Michael Housman, Maryam Hussain, and Richard Abbey. Below are their profiles:
Riaz Shah
Riaz Shah delivered a session titled “The Future of Work” during the briefing for prospective deputy ministers. According to his official website, riazshah.com, Riaz is a Professor of Practice in Innovation and Leadership at Hult International Business School. He frequently leads sessions with senior executives focusing on global megatrends, disruption, and digital innovation.
Riaz is the founder and chairman of One Degree Academy, a free school located in underprivileged areas of London. He also serves as an advisor to several CEOs and social enterprises.
Michael Housman
Michael Housman presented a session titled “Future of AI” at the Hambalang Retreat. Based on his official website, michaelhousman.com, Housman is a data scientist and technologist specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) and human psychology.
Housman has extensive experience in data analytics and has also led technology divisions at several companies.
Maryam Hussain
Maryam Hussain delivered material on “anti-corruption” during the briefing. According to EY.com, Maryam works at EY as a Global Fraud & Corruption Investigator.
The website notes that Maryam has investigated fraud and corruption in both the public and private sectors for 20 years.
Richard Abbey
Like Maryam, Richard Abbey also presented on “anti-corruption.” According to EY.com, Richard serves as a Forensic & Integrity Services Leader.
Richard is a member of the EY Global Forensics Leadership Team and has more than 25 years of experience leading complex financial investigations across all industry sectors. His expertise focuses on multi-jurisdictional corruption investigations, complex fraud, international asset tracing investigations, and regulatory risk.
For reference, Prabowo gathered prospective deputy ministers to attend a series of briefing sessions in Hambalang, West Java, on Thursday (October 17). Prabowo also provided direct guidance to the prospective deputy ministers during the retreat.
