🚀 So, we rolled out some shiny new algorithms to our clients, expecting fireworks, but guess what? Nada. Zip. Their attrition was flat, and performance was unchanged. Classic, right? 🎆🔄

Being the grinder that I am, I went back to the drawing board. My team and I cranked out even better algorithms. We modeled and modeled until our heads spun. Deployed them again and... drumroll... still nothing. 🤔🤷‍♂️

At this point, our startup was bleeding money. We were teetering on the edge of a fire sale. So, out of sheer frustration, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I hopped on a plane, faced our clients, and sat down with recruiters. Over coffee—and let’s be honest, a few too many beers—I heard the same thing: “I’ve got 20 years of experience. No way your fancy algorithm beats my expertise.” 🛫☕🍻

A lightbulb moment: no amount of coding could beat that kind of resistance. I shifted gears, spending half my time on the road, engaging with clients, and explaining why our models mattered. The magic happened when we combined human expertise with machine intelligence. Big lifts followed. 🌟🤝

So, the two lessons here:

Machines aren’t better than humans, but together, they’re unstoppable.
Technology is only half the battle.
Sometimes, you’ve got to step away from the screen and into the real world to make things click. 🖥️➡️🌍
